Imitators in Love (Ephesians 5-6)

I find it rather ironic that a year later I’m walking through this passage again.

I love how Paul starts off chapter 5 talking about how we are to be “imitators of God” and to “walk in love” and then goes into things we should and shouldn’t do. This last year I’ve done a lot of digging into the verse 22-33 part (but I don’t particularly want to start a debate on WordPress…), but it is the fact that this, the chapter afterwards, and the portions before are all based in the gospel. That Christ gave himself up for us as “a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” I feel like having this base of being imitators in love makes every hard-to-swallow-truth that follows easier to accept.

Also armour of God passage. I recall this being used when I was a child for a reason to memorize scripture, though I don’t exactly remember how …. *irrelevant side note*
